Australia-Japan Society of Victoria

Social Functions

The Society’s main social activity of note each year is its annual gala dinner, usually held in early October.

Venues for the dinner are centrally located in Melbourne, and are always of the highest quality.

The dinners provide individual members the opportunity to meet other members, and corporate members are provided an ideal way of entertaining their clients and customers.

Featured during the dinners are either a key-note speaker, or selected entertainment.

Other less formal gatherings are held regularly during the year. These include Bounen-kai (end of year party), Shinnen-kai (beginning of year party), and the newly established Konshin-Kai Network (social get-together) at city bars.

Also on regularly appearing on the list of social events are restaurant nights, an autumn leaf viewing party, and the very popular cherry blossom viewing picnic held at the National Rhododendron Gardens during cherry blossom season.
