For over thirty years, the Australia-Japan Society of Victoria has organised numerous exchange programs through its many partners in Japan. Students who have participated in such programs have been challenged to deepen their understanding of another culture, gaining an insight into different way of life, including the language, customs and people of Japan. The opportunity to attend a Japanese high school, live with a Japanese family, and travel the length of the country has provided young Victorians with countless influential experiences, lifelong friendships, and built their proficiency in a foreign language.
In 2017, the AJSV is again offering Victorian secondary school students in years 9, 10 and 11 the opportunity to participate in an established exchange program funded by a scholarship from generous sponsors. Last year’s sponsors were Mitsubishi Australia Ltd, EY Australia (Ernst & Young) and Murray Goulburn Co-operative Ltd. In recent years, a decision was made to work with schools offering Japanese as a second language to enable their own students to participate in an exchange program wholly organised by the school. The AJSV is pleased to provide the same scholarship opportunity in 2017 for eligible students to partake in a memorable experience in Japan during the 2017-2018 financial year.
Members of the AJSV are kindly invited to speak to eligible students and parents/guardians about the scholarship program so that they may submit applications to the society by the closing date, Friday 28/04/2017. Please advise them to consult the list of eligibility criteria and application procedures before submitting the application form. If you have any queries, please contact us by email.
